I really don't think it's "just a cold"

I'm sick, and since I'm home alone, I'm going to whine to all of you about it. LOL

On Friday, I started coughing--just a dry, hacking cough. It was the kind of cough that in the past has left me sounding like Froggy from The Little Rascals. This time, I kept my voice. When I woke up Saturday, I felt like someone had run over me with a Mack truck--headache, stuffy head, sneezing, coughing, fever. John was going out, so I asked him to pick up some cold medicine for me. He brought back NyQuil liqui-gel. I took a dose, and then I slept for quite a while. I didn't feel any better Sunday. I slept almost the whole way home from Hartselle, and then I was asleep again not long after we got home. Basically, my entire weekend was spent sleeping.

Typically, when I have a cold, I can shake it enough within a couple of days so that I can function, but that isn't happening this time. When I woke up this morning, my head felt like someone had split it in two with an axe and my temp was up a little. I called in, which is something I RARELY ever do, but I knew that I wouldn't be very productive. I got to the doctor's office not long after they opened. The doctor I WANTED to see was only seeing patients with appointments this week, so I had to see the other one. NOTE TO SELF--next time, make an appointment, even if it means waiting all day to get in.

When they took my temp at the office, it was 98.6, but I knew that wasn't right. I know when I have a temp! Since I got home, it hasn't dropped below 100.4. So, I'm not really thinking I have "just a cold." I don't think it's the flu because I don't have the aches associated with flu. However, I'm not a doctor, even though I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express before. :)

Maybe I'll be able to catch up on some blog reading. Sorry if this sounds totally disjointed.

Have a GREAT day.

My Connor had the same thing this weekend. All day Sat. his temp was 103 w/o drugs and 101 w/drugs. He lay around watching movies and eating popsicles all day. Yesterday was much better. I think the only way to beat it is to rest and drink a lot of fluids. Hope you feel better soon!

Maybe you are just run down. It's your body's way of tell you, "Hey, I need a break". So take the day and get some much needed rest.

Disoriented = feverish, but I'm not a doctor either. Hope you get to feeling better.

What better way is there to spend a day at home when you don't feel good but whining on the 'puter to all your bloggy friends about how bad you feel. Made you feel better didn't it?

Sure hope you're feeling much better soon!

Your temp was/is 100.4!! YOU ARE SICK!! For someone with a normal of 98.6 that is high, but for someone with a low normal temp that is roasting. What did the doc do for you? Maybe it is time to go the Urgent Care/After Hours or whatever you have down there. Let me know, PLEASE. Do you need Momma to come take care of you?

Thanks about the comment on my header photo, that is a shot of one of our booths in the antique mall. I'm telling you, we have neglected it sooooooo much over the past year. Steve will be off tomorrow and Wednesday so I'm really hoping we get a chance to go digging through the barn to gather up some things and go works our booths.
Of course as well as working on the booths we want to wash vehicles, replace the battery in his car, get the garden ready to plant some cabbage and onions, get the tomato seeds in the starter tray, clean the house, etc etc. Never enough time in the day it seems.

OH dear, I hate being sick. Bless your heart, I went through this a few months ago and thought I would die. Of course I am a horrible sick person. Take care of yourself and let others take care of you too. And if your sleeping a ton, then your body is definitely telling you something. Want me to bring you some OJ? Get well soon!

Poor dear. We missed you today. Krisen had a little mishap tonight on her way to Debbies. She is such a riot. Met Scott's wife and she is precious.

I hope that you get to feeling better soon. I actually got the same thing that you are describing about 2 days before my baby shower! I was completely miserable and even though the doc gave me a z-pack it still lingered after I finished the meds!
